We are Holy Spirit Church. Join our community in worship and fellowship.
Our HSC dual mission/vision is to be a welcoming presence for LGBT+ persons and to be a resource for at-risk teenagers in our community. Join us this Sunday for the Hallowing of the Hoodies during our 10 AM service and stop by the parish hall to see how much your donations have brought in.
Our main drive for collecting items ends Sunday, September 1st, but help is needed throughout the year. If you would like to donate to help these kids, you can click on the outreach link below to see what is needed and how you can help

Holy Spirit Episcopal Church is a part of the Episcopal Diocese of California, headquartered in San Francisco. We are all members of the national Episcopal Church denomination which itself is a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion, the 3rd largest Christian community in the world, behind the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches.
At Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, we support at-risk teenagers in schools from our local area, hunger outreach programs, LGBTQI+ concerns and assist members of our own community in times of need. If you would like to help in our various ministries, any amount is appreciated. Contributions are tax deductible. Thank you.
Holy Spirit Episcopal Church is an outgrowth of two faith communities established in the mid 20th Century, St. John's, Clayton, est. 1962, and St. Michael and All Angels, Concord, est. 1947. You will notice both names from time to time in our materials as we reference our histories.
"Catholic Lite... some of the ceremony, none of the guilt..."
"Connecting your Spirit without Disconnecting your mind,,,"
"Open to everybody... really."
"Kinda formal, kinda fun."
At Holy Spirit Episcopal Church we are a small but hearty community which welcomes all...we have members of the LGBTQI+ community, new Americans, families and single adults, people from all walks of life. No matter who you are, or what your background is, you'll probably feel right at home. Give us a try. We believe God in Jesus Christ loves you--no exceptions.
We are an inclusive community of committed Christians who seek to serve God in our daily life and share fellowship as we gather to worship each week.
Faith is more than what happens on Sunday mornings. It's a part of who we are, inside and out. At Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, we believe in sharing the joy of the Gospels daily, and living a life that embodies the spirit of Christ.
The mission of The Episcopal Church, as stated in the Book of Common Prayer’s catechism, is “to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.” In step with that mission, we follow Jesus into loving, liberating, and life-giving relationships with God, with each other, and with the earth.
The Episcopal Church in the Bay Area serves a diverse community of faith encompassing the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Approximately 18,000 baptized people form 72 congregations, which are organized into six deaneries (a geographical group of congregations). The Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, and Southern Alameda deaneries cover their respective counties; the Peninsula Deanery consists of all of San Mateo County and a small portion of Santa Clara County.
A recommendation from one or our young adults:
The only church I could ever step foot in without feeling like I'll burst in to flames.....You won't feel judged, you won't feel that you're wrong for being who you are. You will be welcome exactly as you are. If you are looking to build a relationship with God, or you don't know what you are looking for, Holy Spirit may be a good place to start
